It doesn’t matter how much sleep you get, if you don’t do anything productive during the day, you’ll end up with a brain full of mush and an overly tired body.

I’ll also explain how to make sure you never fall back asleep again after waking up. And finally, I’ll reveal my secret weapon to help me stay awake and focused throughout the day.
But how do you create a “that girl” morning routine that works specifically for you? Well, first off, you’ve got to figure out what kind of routine you want.
Do you want to wake up feeling refreshed and energized, ready to take on the world? Or do you just want to roll out of bed and hit snooze until noon? Once you’ve figured out what type of routine you want, you’ll need to decide whether it should be a daily thing or a weekly thing.
Daily Routines
A daily routine is great for those mornings where you just need to get through the motions without thinking too hard about it.
A daily routine might include getting dressed, making coffee, eating breakfast, showering, and maybe even brushing your teeth. While it won’t necessarily give you any extra energy, it will keep you moving forward throughout the day.
Weekly Routines
On the other hand, a weekly routine is perfect for those days when you want to really focus on yourself. This is the time you take when you know you won’t be able to fit it into your daily routine.
This could be because you have to get up and take care of the kids or spend that extra time studying for a big test, either way, this is that time you fit what you need into your schedule.
Maybe you’d like to meditate before work, or maybe you’d like to exercise after dinner. Whatever your goals are, a weekly routine gives you the chance to plan ahead and make sure you’re giving yourself the best opportunity to achieve them.

The answer depends entirely on you. If you’re someone who needs to get going in order to function properly, then a daily routine may be more beneficial for you.
On the other hand, if you’re someone who likes to enjoy life and relax at the end of each day, then a weekly routine may be more suitable for you.

1. Wake Up Early
This may seem like a no-brainer, but waking up early is actually the hardest part of creating a morning routine. The reason why is because most of us live hectic lives, and we’re constantly trying to cram as much stuff into our days as possible.
And when we wake up late, it’s hard to get ourselves motivated to work out. But once you get yourself up before everyone else, you’ll find that you’re more likely to keep your motivation high throughout the rest of your day.

Once you’re awake, it’s time to move! Start your day off right by getting moving. Whether you prefer to run outside, take a brisk walk around the block, or even hit the gym, make sure you get at least 30 minutes of movement first thing in the morning.
3. Drink Water
Drinking water is essential to staying healthy, and it also helps you feel full longer. Plus, it keeps you hydrated, which means you won’t be reaching for sugary drinks later in the day.
4. Eat Breakfast
Breakfast is probably the most important meal of the day. Not only does it give us the energy to start our days but it also helps us to avoid overeating later in the day. Make sure to eat a healthy breakfast full of protein and fiber.
5. Take Time For Yourself
Take some time to yourself in the morning. You don’t have to go anywhere special, but taking some time to yourself is always nice. Maybe you’d like to read a book, listen to music, or even write down your thoughts.
6. Meditate
Meditating is an excellent way to clear your mind and prepare yourself mentally for the day ahead. It’s also a great way to calm your nerves and prepare yourself emotionally.
7. Exercise
Exercise is another great way to start your day off on the right foot. It not only gets your blood pumping, but it also makes you feel good about yourself.

Whether you want to paint, draw, or sculpt, doing something creative in the morning is a great way to unwind and release any stress from the previous day.

At the end of the day, what matters most is how you spend your time. And there’s nothing wrong with focusing on your health, relationships, career, or anything else that really matters to you.
Remember these are just a few things you can incorporate into your morning routine. Make sure it fits you and the type of lifestyle you are living whether calm or busy.

Why Should You Create A Productive Morning Routine?
Mornings are so important because you should wake up early to prepare yourself for the day ahead and they typically set the tone for your entire day.
Also, early mornings are not a one size fits all approach. Some people may work at night or take online night classes and just have to stay up a little later than the norm. And that is fine. Adjust your wake-up time to what fits you and your needs.
Just make sure to have a routine in place for the time you set to wake up. That way you know exactly what you need to do when you get out of bed eliminating the need to think. And when done on a consistent basis it will become second nature to you.
If you’re still finding it hard to wake up try setting the alarm to a more soothing sound. I actually bought one off iTunes because the standard alarm tone Apple has is so disturbing. To me, the standard Apple alarm wakes you up like there’s a fire in your house and you have to get out immediately. I hate it.
Something else to consider is having something that you look forward to doing in the morning. That could be exercise, your morning journaling, meditation, etc. When you have something to look forward to, it makes getting up out of bed so much smoother and your “that girl” morning routine a lot easier.Â
Fill Your Mind With Positive Thoughts
This girl is always trying to learn new things. She listens to podcasts that help her expand her knowledge. She reads articles about topics she isn’t familiar with. She watches documentaries about interesting topics. She learns from other people who share their experiences and wisdom.
Creating an environment where you feel comfortable is key.
You can do this through reading self-help books, listening to motivational speakers, watching inspirational videos, talking to people who inspire you, taking a walk, exercising, meditating, or any number of activities. The point is to find something that helps you feel relaxed and confident.
