Add these 21 simple New Year resolutions to your list now! Then, it’s time to make some changes. Whether you’re looking for a way to improve your life or just want to commit to something new, it’s never too late. It may seem daunting, but these simple New Year resolutions are achievable and help you live a better life!
This one is a classic for a reason: getting your life in order makes everything run more smoothly. It can be as simple as creating a daily to-do list or dedicating specific days of the week to different tasks (like laundry day, grocery shopping day, etc.).
This one is probably easier said than done, but it’s worth striving for. Make sure to include plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet, and avoid processed foods as much as possible. And you can always start small. For example, I love potato chips and haven’t given them up. I just try not to eat them as often as I used to.
I know, I know – this one is tough! But trust me, cutting back on alcohol will do wonders for your body and mind. Try alternating days when you drink with days when you don’t or limit yourself to one drink per night.
This one is so important, yet it’s often the first thing to go when we’re busy. Make a point of getting at least seven hours of sleep per night, and try to stick to a regular bedtime schedule. Your mind and body will thank you for it.
This doesn’t have to mean taking a day off from work or spending lots of money on expensive activities – in fact, sometimes the best way to relax is by doing something simple, like reading a book or taking a walk in nature.
We all know that stress isn’t good for us, but it can be tough to find ways to reduce it. So make sure you take some time for yourself every day – even just five minutes – to do whatever it is that makes you feel calm and relaxed.
This one may sound extreme, but the New Year is a great time to make some significant changes in your life! First, try identifying what might be causing those bad habits (like stress), then figure out ways of coping with them instead.
There are so many people who need help, and giving can have tremendous effects on both the receiver and giver! Whether you choose to volunteer at a shelter once a month or donate clothes from your closet every few weeks, helping others will not only improve their lives – it’ll also give you perspective when things get tough.
This one is key – if you don’t have any goals, how will you know when you’ve succeeded? Any win, big or small, is a success, and it will keep you motivated. Make sure your resolutions are specific and measurable so that you can track your progress along the way.
Sounds silly, but it works! Write down everything you plan to do in the New Year, then tick each item off as you go along. You can also keep track of your progress by writing out monthly or weekly lists for specific tasks/goals – whatever is most helpful will depend on what you’re trying to achieve. And this list does not have to be long or complicated. Remember-keep it simple. For example, one item on the list can be to keep dishes from piling up each week or make it to the gym a few times a month. The goal is just to start and keep it going.
Use photos and quotes that motivate you every day. This is one I love doing – whenever I’m feeling discouraged or unmotivated, looking at my board always makes me feel better. It’s all about finding ways to recharge when things get tough! Simple new year resolutions are achievable if we set our minds to them. So make this year count by setting goals and working towards them in the new year. Simple New Year Resolutions to a better you!
You will get closer to where you want to be. However, do not be afraid to fail. Remember that life is a learning process, and it’s essential to take small steps forward every day to reach where you want to be.
This one can be tough, but it’s so important! If someone is constantly bringing you down or making you feel bad about yourself, it’s time to cut them loose. It might hurt in the short term, but it’ll be worth it in the long run.
Simple New Year Resolutions can be challenging, so it’s important to have a good support system around you – especially when it comes time to get moving! Try joining a fitness class or training with a friend to make it more fun.
Along with working out more, try setting some fitness goals for yourself – like running a certain number of miles in a month or losing a set number of pounds. Seeing your progress in black and white (or pixels) is always incredibly motivating!
This one goes hand in hand with setting fitness goals – if you’re trying to get healthy, it’s time to ditch those unhealthy habits once and for all. Smoking, drinking too much, eating poorly – they’ve all got to go if you want to see real results.
We often don’t drink enough water, which is terrible news for our health and skin. So make a point of drinking at least eight glasses of water per day to stay hydrated – you’ll feel better for it!
Along with drinking more water, try eating more fruits and vegetables every day. They’re packed full of nutrients, antioxidants, and fiber, and they’re low in calories to boot. What’s not to love?
This one might be tough, but it’s worth it in the long run! Try gradually cutting back on your caffeine intake until you’re down to just one or two cups of coffee per day. You’ll sleep better, and your energy levels will be more consistent. I started by swapping my usual two cups of coffee for 1 cup of coffee and 1 cup of tea. Fast forward to now, I started drinking more tea than coffee because it makes me feel much calmer and at ease. My anxiety isn’t as bad, and I also use it as a coping mechanism.
Please take a look at everything in your wardrobe and sort out anything that doesn’t fit you or makes you feel great, donating it to charity so someone else can get some use from it! Simple New Year Resolutions for success always involve making space for the things that truly bring us joy.
Simple New Year Resolutions can involve working towards healthier living, but that doesn’t mean you should neglect the mental side of things. Keeping a daily journal is an easy way to track how you’re feeling and make sure nothing bad is bubbling up without your knowledge. You’ll be surprised at how much you can learn about yourself just by writing down your thoughts every day.
